For my next review I thought I should do a show that just had its first season finale which is HBO's True Detective. True Detective is a show on HBO that is about two detectives who are questioned about a case they handled seventeen years earlier.
The detectives are Detective Rust Cohle, played by Matthew McConaughey who just won the Oscar for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club, and Detective Marty Hart, played by Woody Harrelson who was in the Hunger Games films. If you like either of these two then you must watch this show because they are both phenomenal. The show is a little slow in the beginning, but these two make it so you don't notice at all. Here is a simple scene where it is just the two of them driving, but the conversation, and the way they discuss the topic, is just interesting.
One thing that is very interesting about this show is that it only had one Director, Cary Fuknaga who directed films like Jane Eyre and Sin Nombre. Fuknaga did such an amazing job that I can't wait for the next season. From what I hear it will have different main characters, but I'm still really excited.
Since McConaughey and Harrelson aren't returning I have to say that I can see why these are great actors. They did such an awesome job with the drama that when certain things happened I couldn't help but react. I was a fan of these two before this show, but I'm a bigger one now because of it.
The show is on HBO so there is a lot of cursing, nudity, sex, and violence, but if you can handle that then this show is for you. My rating is that if you can handle it watch this show as soon as you can. You will not regret it. If there is anything you want me to review let me know.
