Arrow

I'm really sorry for not doing a review in almost a month, but I'm going to review the show Arrow on the CW. Arrow is a show about the origins of the superhero The Green Arrow/Oliver Queen. Coming this fall they will be going into their third season, and I can't be more excited.

When this show first premiered two years ago I didn't know what to expect because I knew very little of Green Arrow before this show. I was thinking it was going to be another Smallville, which isn't a bad thing, but was I wrong. Compared to Smallville this show is a lot more action packed, and more dramatic. They do have their comedic moments, but this show is a lot darker than most. In all honesty I like Green Arrow/Oliver Queen in this show than any other representation of him that I've seen. I believe that has to do with the acting.

Playing Oliver/Green Arrow is Stephen Amell, who has been in series like Private Practice and  Heartland. Oliver's mom Moira is played by Susanna Thompson, who has been in series like Once and Again and NCIS. Oliver's sister Thea is played by Willa Holland, who has been in the show Gossip Girl and the movie Tiger Eyes. The rest of the cast includes: Katie Cassidy, who has been in films like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Click, David Ramsey, who has been in series like Dexter and Blue Bloods, Paul Blackthorne, who has been in series like ER and 24, Emily Bett Rickards, who has been in films like Flicka: Country Pride and Dakota's Summer, and finally Manu Bennett, who has been in the show Spartacus and the movies The Hobbit.

Now there are other cast members, but these are the ones you need to know for the first season. I didn't name them all, but there are a lot of characters in this show that play an important role. As I mentioned earlier this show is action packed, and it is really cool action. Here is a fight scene from the pilot that I think shows you exactly what I mean.

In the end, I highly recommend this show to any comic book or superhero fan. They don't make too many of these shows, and you should watch this one for as long as it is on. My rating is that you should watch this show as soon as you can if you like great action and dramatic TV series. You will not regret it.
