Chronicle

I watched one of my movies today that I just really want to review. The movie was Chronicle, and it is honestly one of the best sci-fi films I have ever seen. I say that for a few reasons.

When I went to go see this film I knew it looked cool, but I didn't know what to expect. What the film is about is that three high school students discover something amazing while at a party, and because of this thing they acquire superpowers. Most of us have wanted superpowers at one point or another in our lives, and this film in a way lets you have that experience.

That is the first reason this film is so good. They filmed in like a found footage film which doesn't always work well, but it does for this film. They did it in a way that makes you feel more connected to these characters because it makes them feel like real people. The found footage aspect also makes you feel like you have powers as well; especially when they use a certain power.

The second reason is the special effects. Chronicle wasn't a big budget film, so when you see how good the effects are you are really surprised. Here is a scene from the film that explains what I mean. Now don't get me wrong they aren't superb, but for how little they spent compared to big summer movies they look really good.

The last reason is the acting. The actors they got for this film were actors who weren't well known at the time. They were new upcoming actors, but they all did a great job. The three friends are Andrew, Matt, and Steve. Andrew is played by Dane DeHaan, who was recently in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Harry Osborn. Matt is played by Alex Russell, who was in the films Carrie and The Host. Finally, Steve is played by Michael B. Jordan, who was in the TV series Friday Night Lights.

In the end, Chronicle was an awesome sci-fi film that surprised me when I saw it. My rating is that you should see this as soon as you can if you like sci-fi, or you just like really good films.

If there is any film or show you would like me to review just leave a comment and I will try to review them. I want to hear what you guys think as well if you have seen this film already, or after.
