I know it has been a while since I've done this, but after seeing Only The Brave I had to review it. The reason I had to is because this film is really good; it is based on the true events of The Granite Mountain Hotshots, and how they were created.
Hotshots are firefighters who fight forest fires so not all of the forest is destroyed, and the fires don't reach any towns. The one thing this movie and actors does very well is show the bond these men truly have with each other. They aren't blood related, but they are as close to a family you will ever get.
Everyone does such a great job in the film that when they are in any kind of danger you are right there with them, and you don't want anything bad to happen to any of them. I could be wrong, but I think this was so good that I see Oscar nominations in its future. This is a film that needs more recognition, and more people need to see in the theatre. It does these men a great respect, and it shows true American heroes.
In the end, I think Only The Brave is one of the best films of this year, and everyone should see this movie. If you don't walk out with a greater respect for men and women like this you didn't understand the message, and you don't see the courage these people truly have.
